Community Service

I'm passionate about volunteering with organizations like Miracle League, YMSL, and the Special Olympics.

Through these experiences, I've had the privilege of helping kids with disabilities play baseball, assisting in community service projects, and supporting athletes in local Special Olympics events.

Volunteering has taught me the importance of inclusion, teamwork, and giving back to those who may face extra challenges. It's been a rewarding

way to make a positive impact in my community while building meaningful connections.

I've been an active member of the Young Men Service League (YMSL), a national nonprofit organization that brings mothers and sons together to serve their communities through meaningful volunteer work. As part of this four-year commitment, I've had the privilege of completing service hours alongside my mom at various local charities, developing both leadership skills and a genuine heart for helping others. My work has included engaging with senior citizens through programs that reduce social isolation and bring companionship to older adults in our community. I've also volunteered extensively with GRACE (Grapevine Relief And Community Exchange), a premier relief agency serving Northeast Tarrant County families facing financial hardships. Through GRACE, I've helped provide food pantry assistance, supported their community health clinic, and participated in programs that guide individuals toward self-sufficiency. These experiences through YMSL have not only strengthened my relationship with my mom but have also opened my eyes to the profound impact that dedicated service can have on our neighbors in need, instilling in me a lifelong commitment to giving back to my community.

One of my most rewarding volunteer experiences has been serving with the Miracle League, a nonprofit organization that provides children and adults with physical and mental disabilities the opportunity to play baseball in an inclusive environment. As both a coach and buddy volunteer, I've worked on specially designed rubberized fields that accommodate wheelchairs and mobility devices, helping young athletes hit, run the bases, and experience the joy of being part of a team. Through the buddy system, I've formed meaningful bonds with players, supporting them in building confidence and self-esteem in a non-competitive atmosphere where everyone gets to participate fully. Coaching these remarkable athletes has taught me invaluable lessons about perseverance, inclusion, and the transformative power of simply giving every child the chance to play, reminding me that sports can break down barriers and bring communities together.

Through my volunteer work with Special Olympics, I've had the opportunity to support athletes with intellectual disabilities in year-round sports training and competition. As a volunteer, I've helped guide athletes in sports like bowling and baseball, assisting them in developing their skills and participating in competitions. Working with these athletes has given me a better understanding of inclusion and shown me how sports programs can help break down barriers in our community. The experience has taught me valuable lessons about different abilities and the importance of creating opportunities for everyone to participate in athletics.
